You need to fill up the Free Application for Federal Student Aid also known as FAFSA. This application form will indicate if you need to have parental consent to continue with the application and will also provide you with a set of worksheets that will allow you to determine what amount of government student loans you are eligible to receive. You will need to print out the completed forms and then then return them as quickly as possible to the address provided. A PIN will be created for you to use with any document that you submit. This will act as your signature. The application process is a very easy one. You simple enter the required information on the form. The submit the form via online or mail. You will need to ensure that all the information provided is accurate and current. After the FAFSA is processed you will receive a SAR or Student Aid Report. This information is available online for government students loans using the same PIN number and website as the FAFSA application. Schools that you have listed on the form will also have access to an electronic copy. Corrections and additions can be made to the processed SAR online by simply using your PIN to access the site.
