Retire Young - Getting Top-Notch Health Care While Living Abroad

I love going places. My whole family goes places and a lot of us have formerly resided in other countries. France, Senegal, Morocco, Martinique, China, Brazil, Ghana, Italy, and South Africa are only a few of the countries we resided in and delighted in. In addition, my family is healthy; because of our healthy lifestyle, we haven't had any big health problems at all. We've been extremely blessed. Except for when I had my kids, I also have not had to stay overnight in a hospital.

Some of my acquaintances think they must forget about retiring overseas because they have health care worries. Despite our hale and hearty family background, we still have no certainty that we will continue to be free of disease and illness; therefore, I completely urge you to make sure that your future expatriate life contains excellent, affordable, easy to access health care.

A study recently put out by the United Nations, showed that out of sixteen industrialized nations: Japan, Switzerland, Italy, Norway, Sweden, France, Finland, Germany, Australia, Canada, Netherlands, Austria, Ireland, United Kingdom, Denmark and the United States of America, the United States was last in population health.

This lets the topic of the common quality of health care in the US come into discussion. There is a large inequality all over the nation, making the reply to that question depend on the person you talk to. I make my home within the southwestern United States, and I am aware that a lot of local residents chose to travel to Mexico in order to obtain their medications, as well as get their medical and dental treatments.

Do we think that good medical care can only be found in America? It may be hard to believe, but Americans who journey to Mexico and who cannot speak a word of Spanish were receiving the full array of top-notch medical care for very little money. "payment for travel expenses and cash incentives as high as $10,000 for those choosing the offshore option. The savings are so great that in many cases, especially for the most complex operations, 'savings far exceed these payments'."

The expenses in certain hospitals in India are less than 60-90 percent of what they would expend in the United States for the same procedure. Often that cost savings takes into consideration the airfare and hotel charges also.

Now, you realize that when retire, you still must eat properly and get exercise. The last thing you want to do is to get stressed out about health care that you may or may not require.

For your own peace of mind and comfort level, you can always return to the U.S. once a year to your own doctor for your yearly physical exam. But you don't have to give up on your dream of retiring abroad.
