Finding the perfect wedding location can be an exciting process. The entire world is at your fingertips. You could choose a destination wedding in Nepal, or a beachside wedding in Mexico. Was there a color that seems to be repeated throughout? The primary colors you find could be chosen for floral bouquets, for lighting, for tablecloths. After you've made a decision on a color scheme that suits you, its time to move on to bigger questions. What is your ideal wedding location? You can use your idea board to help narrow things down. Are the images you chose city-centric or are they filled with birds, open skies and prairie lands? What styles of buildings did you cut out? Is there a Swiss Chalet? Does something trigger a memory about your courting days? Maybe you want to be married at the location you first met, or went on your first date. A wedding location can be as personal to your life as you like. It can also be a reflection of where you see your life going. If instead, your idea board had no buildings, no architecture, but was instead filled with images of alpine lakes or seaside colors, you may prefer an outdoor wedding. Imagine how you would feel as a horse drawn carriage delivers you to your future husband. Words are just as important as images. Was there ever a book you read and thought, 'I need to go there?' That may be your honeymoon location, or your wedding location. Are there phrases from poetry you've cut out, or passages from the bible? Feel free to find ways to incorporate these words into your ceremony, or use the quotes to set the mood for save-the-date cards. A quote may even hold the secret to the place you want to be married. If Cinderella was your favorite book, maybe you should be married in a palace. With so many wedding locations to choose from, your idea board is your tool to help find the one that best represents you and your groom. The location should reflect both of your personalities.
