To become a a video game tester is an ambition that thousands of young men and women from around the globe dream of doing. Who would not want to be paid to do a job that they willingly do in their own spare time anyway?

There certainly isn't many jobs out there that can offer such rewards. A pro footballer or tennis player would be a great job, but obviously these jobs are beyond most of us.

The video games industry is a multi-billion dollar business and one of the biggest industries in the world. Thats why the US the UK, Japan, China and several other countries employ hundreds of video game testers.

There is an astonishing amount of video games being developed to handle the increasing demand. With so many different game companies producing them, there is an abundance of video game testing jobs available that require qualified, motivated people to fill.

Obviously these posts are in great demand, especially among young adultsmen and women, and game companies can be very selective in selecting potential employees.

You will often find game testing positions that require particular qualifications. The reason they do this is often to reduce the amount of applications they receive in order to accelerate the recruiting process.

This will inevitably stop the vast majority of potential employees from applying and they will look for other job vacancies that dont require qualifications. This is a big MISTAKE and one that could cost you of your dream job.

You Can Become A Video Game Tester And Not Have Any Qualifications

If a games company advertises a game tester job that you feel is suitable for you, then you should still apply for it, regardless of the qualifications criteria.

First of all you have nothing to lose by applying. Secondly, if you have written the best resume you possibly can, then there is a great chance your application will be read by someone within the company (probably the HR department) and actually processed as a potential employee.

If you have a compelling and professional looking resume there is a good chance you will get called forward for an interview.

There are no easy rides in this industry and if you want to be noticed you need to take positive action to promote yourself to a future employer. By showing such initiative you may well impress your potential employer enough to give you an interview.

Remember, this is a dream job you are searching for, that could easily lead to higher paid jobs within the games industry. If you have the right attitude and are prepared to work hard at it, there is no reason at all why you cant become a video game tester.

The rewards for your efforts are more than worth it. You dont get many jobs that are cooler than a video game tester!
