If you want to donate clothes, and there are many reasons for doing so, then you're going to need to be armed with the right information on how to go about it! Unfortunately, if many of us don't know how to donate we don't donate at all! Just follow this guide and start donating all those clothes that you no longer wear.

What do I need to donate clothes? You need the clothes themselves (as well as any shoes, accessories, jewellery and so on) and some bags or boxes to put them all in.

Steps Before Donating the Clothes

1) Firstly you need to sort out all of your clothes. This is probably going to be the hardest part. It's time to be brutally honest - what doesn't fit you? What do you never wear? What don't you like? What have you NEVER worn? Is anyone going to be able to benefit from these clothes? The answer is almost certainly YES! So put them to good use by donating.

2) Now you need to get your clothes ready to be donated. You could just donate dirty, damaged items. But if you want to be eco chic and self-conscious then be nice! Clean any dirty shoes with a wipe, wash any clothes that really smell or look dirty, do whatever needs doing. It isn't completely necessary, it just shows you've spared a thought for those volunteers who are going to sort through them.

3) Now it's time to pack up all of the items. Fold them neatly so they're all ready to be donated.

When It Comes to Donation Time

There are so many ways to donate these clothes you've lovingly prepared!

Clothing Bins - These are found everywhere, in your local high street or yor supermarket. Just bag up your clothes and push them into the bin. They'll be distributed between various charity shops.

Charity Shops - A very common and popular option, as this lets you choose the individual cause that you wish to support. Don't just leave the clothes outside of the door, walk in and hand them to the volunteer to ensure they stay in good condition.

Online - Yes, the internet is now providing a solution to everything. Just do a quick search and you'll find loads of places that can help you be more eco conscious.
