One of the areas that have not been affected as much is the health care field. In fact recent trends have shown the amount of qualified people getting hired has pretty much stayed the same. Not only that, a health care job, any type of job, comes with relatively good salary and not to mention job security. The following are some of the highest paid careers in the health care world. Each job will be listed according to salary level. It goes without saying that these jobs require long periods of training and dedication.

Not only that, a health care job, any type of job, comes with relatively good salary and not to mention job security. The following are some of the highest paid careers in the health care world. Each job will be listed according to salary level. It goes without saying that these jobs require long periods of training and dedication.

One of the top paying careers in health care is thoracic surgeons. Surgeons traditionally have been on top of the pecking order and thoracic surgeons are no exception. This type of work specializes in the health of the throat and chest area. Sometimes a thoracic surgeon will need to specialize, but this can be optional. Specializing may include heart or lungs. A thoracic surgeon can easily make around $200,000 a year.

Close on the heels of thoracic surgeons, is the profession of orthodontists. Orthodontists specialize in teeth and jaw related health. It is a branch of dentistry, although more specialized. After graduation in order to practice, a candidate must become a member of the Orthodontists Association of America.

General internists are also one of the highest paying jobs and it ranks number 3 after thoracic surgeon and orthodontists. In short this work involves stomach related health, such as the intestine, liver, pancreas and kidneys. During the course of the education, the student will learn proper diagnostic and treatment techniques of these organs. There are 2 qualifications that allow you to practice as general internists. And they are doctor of osteopathic medicine and doctor of medicine.

Prosthodontists is number four on the list. This job, like orthodontists, is related to dentistry. The difference is that it is more specialized compared to orthodontists. You will be dealing with problems such as imperfect teeth and tooth decay. Like other health related jobs, proper diagnostics and treatment is a must to excel in this field.

General practitioners are the last one on this list. Compared to the above mentioned hobs, this one has general responsibilities. These include preparing government documents relating to birth and death, hygiene and diet advice, giving health programs etc. Once you become more experienced then you will be able to give treatments and therapies.
