If you have looked around your home for somewhere to put an extra half bath or powder room and not found the space for it, read on. You can do more with less room than you ever thought. A corner bathroom sink of tiny size may be all that is needed to get you the extra space you need.

Check out this example of how a tiny space can be used. Remove the built-in forced-air heating unit. One couple did just that. They then put a toilet and sink in the exact same space. Close fit? You bet. But they are quite happy with it.

If that does not convince you then how about the guy who put a half bath in his airplane hangar. Now this hangar is T-shaped so it is really tight. He put the shower, sink and toilet along side the fuselage of his Cessna. He did not even have the luxury of a square space. Now that has to give you some encouragement.

Maybe you can find the space in your place. Think out side of the usual places. What about the linen closet? Or, maybe the coat closet could do the job. Do you have space under the back staircase? The mudroom may have some potential. And, do not forget the garage. Maybe a master suite is a possibility.

When considering any bathroom addition, how easy it is to reach the area below the floor is important. Water has to flow downhill. It costs more money if you want to pump it up from the basement. But a basement beneath the area you are planning is great.

Being able to access the underside of the future bathroom is great good luck. Any plumber will be all smiles if he or she need not crawl or dig their way into the piping. And if other sewer pipes are near at hand, well, you are in business.

There are many space saving fixtures available to help you put what you want in a space that normally would not allow it. Tiny sinks, corner sinks and pedestal sinks are just a few. The shape of toilets can help with space restrictions too. A round bowl takes up considerably less room.

While seeing these fixtures in person can help you find just the right size, the variety can be limited. But there is no limit to the web sites that feature specialty fixtures and appliances. As you can imagine, there is likely a solution for every problem. And do not forget that RVs and boats frequently need smaller scale fittings.

Of course you need to consider what sort of budget you are dealing with. No matter what size it is, you may want to be prepared to spend more. It is a rare project that comes in at or under budget. There is just something about little projects that lend themselves to over runs. It is just a fact of life.

So why not take another look around the house. It is possible that the garage or even the mudroom can be the answer to your spare bath problems. Maybe just a corner bathroom sink can make the space you have in mind work for you.
