When you are checking out the courses, ask if they offer music production classes. If you're interested in learning how to make your own remixes of song, this will be really fun. Ableton Live is becoming a very popular piece of software for this at the moment. Deadmau5 uses it!

Some classes are run by aspiring Djs and some by famous one. Just because a DJ is famous doesn't mean they will be a good teacher. Some of the most amazing teachers were not necessarily the best DJs. That being said, being able to learn from someone with a lot of knowledge is priceless. Try to find a combination of both!

There are also a few different options on finding the classes. Do you want to move at your own pace and learn from home on an internet course or do you want to go to a classroom and learn from a teacher? Both have their pros and cons.

Going to local classes will allow you have someone really teach you in a hands on kind of way. This can make things a little easier for some people. This is usually how I like to learn things.
