You may also want to find out if the course offers music production training. This can be cool if you want to make your own remixes of songs. Ableton Live is a popular program being used at moment by big DJs such as deadmau5.

Some are ran by famous DJs and some are ran by aspiring Djs. Keep in mind that just because a DJ is famous, doesn't mean they will be the best teacher. I've met some of the most amazing teachers that can get you up to their level fast with a lot of wasted time. That being said, if you can find a combination of both, you are set! Being able to tap someone with deep knowledge is indispensable.

You must also decide what type of class format do you want to take. Do you want to find a local class and learn from a teacher in person or do you want to learn at your own pace on your own schedule and take an internet class?.

If you go to classes, you can have a teacher really show you the ropes hands on. This can be very beneficial when learning something new. This is generally the way I like to learn things.
