Exercise is beneficial to all regardless of age. It is one of the best things you can do to ensure good health. It helps you to take control of your life by maintaining a level of fitness that is essential to lead an active and a good life.

Studies indicate that poor health in senior citizens is almost always associated with a poor lifestyle. Sedentary habits with almost no physical exercise coupled with an inadequate diet often lead to physical weakness which again is an open invitation for various diseases. Good life can be restored and the weak physical condition completely reversed with the aid of regular exercises and a nutritous and balanced diet.

Maintaining a strict regime of exercises can bring the lost shape of your body which will boost up your confidence. At the same time, it works on the immune system of our body. Hence you will be more protected from the attacks of diseases like diabetes, arthritis and other bone related disorders, cardiac disorders etc.

Regular working out enhances your flexibility which are lost with age. As we grow old, our capability to balance the body diminishes because muscles are no longer firm. Balanced diet is not necessarily deprivation but organizing the edibles in a proper manner. Chuck out high calorie edibles, like fast food, oily foods or sweets, from your food list. Instead incorporate food with high nutritional value like lean meat, green leafy vegetables, eggs, nuts etc. Carbohydrate rich foods like bread, pasta and rice are also good for health. Your meal should be balanced with all these foods so that eating remains as interesting as it used to be when you survived on junk and street food.

Eating a wide variety of food is absolutely vital as it helps to meet our body?s requirements of vitamins, other essential minerals help your way to a good life. Apart from exercise and food, adequate sleep and rest are also important to enjoy a good life as they are good rejuvenators.
