Ray Fong and Ferny Ceballos, just 4 years ago were high educated engineers working on projects they are, 'til this day, forbidden to talk about. Cool huh? Ferny went to college at MIT, the worlds leading science & technology institute, having studied Electrical Engineering and Computer Science; later earning a graduate degree from the University of Southern California (USC) in Electrical Engineering while working on highly classified defense programs. What makes his story so remarkable is that Ferny is a 2nd generation Mexican-American, born in East L.A. and son of poor Mexican immigrants. Just as inspiring is the story of his business partner, Raymond Fong. Ray immigrated to the United States when he was 9 years old from Taiwan, grew up very poor and his dream as a kid, was to become a successful engineer, earning a lucrative wage and retiring his parents from their back breaking jobs. Like Ferny, Ray had also graduated from a prestigious technical institute, Harvey Mudd College and had also earned a graduate degree from USC. He too worked on high classified programs for the government, but both fell well short of being able to retire their parents. With 40% income taxes on young single guys and a high cost of living in Los Angeles, they managed to barely send a few hundred bucks to their parents, pay their living expenses and afford a couple of beers with friends. They felt so deceived by the promise of the American Dream. Having worked hard, got good grades, went to a good school, and got a safe secure job to justify the sacrifice of their parents. They followed that formula to the extreme and were miserable. Whether you are living on a $20,000 per year job or a $80,000 per year job, the ?rat race? is still the ?rat race? ? the only difference is the size of the cheese. They asked themselves, "There had to be more to life than herding ourselves like cattle down the freeway for 3 hours every day, and spending another 8+ hours stuck in the Dilbert-Cube, feeding the governments hunger for the meaningless paper work, while working on bloated billion dollar defense programs (few of which are ever finished? Maybe cause of the freaking paper work!) It seems they did find an answer to their woes, ironically, in the MLM industry in a 3 year journey, eventually arriving on financial freedom...
