All of us devote so much time, energy and concentration to the day job that it can be easy to fall into a trap of simply working to pay to the bills and nothing more. So what can be done to keep the colour and richness flowing in your life?

Experts have for a long time known that a key ingredient of happiness is passion for what you do. Even if you are not able to make your ideal hobby into a job from which you can earn a living, we should all nevertheless have things in our lives which generate passion and excitement.

Life offers each of us an enormous array of different activities from which to generate colour, passion and excitement into our lives but how many of us actually go out to seek it? The danger becomes that you can quickly wind up wondering where all the years went.

Perhaps you have always loved music so what about the possibility to learn to play guitar? Today there are instructional methods which make it easier than ever before and in fact the science of learning has improved so much in recent years that its becoming ever easier to learn new things.

One of my personal favorites is to learn a new language. Nothing opens up the world more than communication and having a new language could enrich your life experience enormously through travel and meeting new people.

What about Italian cooking and developing a wide range of fantastic dishes you could prepare for friends or family? Its these kinds of ideas which Im encouraging you to think about. Seek out things which are going to get you excited about your day.

With the challenge of learning comes the reward of achieving something new. New opportunities present themselves naturally as a result of this kind of winning behaviour. As a friend of mine once told me, If you keep doing what youre doing, you keep getting what youve got.
