Well off and clean, do these terms have something in common? As per World Bank all the cleanest countries are rich, well except New Zealand that is, which ranks at number 37 in the richest countries list.

Mercer Human Resources Consulting has pulled the figures for the cleanest cities from 300 cities around the world. While you would expect population size or country size to be a major factor in considering whether a city is clean or not, surprisingly it doesn't seem to be a factor. The major key indicators are education, how hi tech the city is, whether it houses major International companies.

While making this list there was a lot of research involved including a focus on the quality of living, reports about the cities. Population, physical size of the city were not considered as a criteria for evaluating whether these cities are clean or not.

Good Transport system which was clean, Green Living, Energy production, and more were considered in drawing up the cleanest city in the world list. Let's hope that this list is indeed accurate.
