Aggressive dog training is often required when a dog shows signs of dominance, like not obeying commands all the time that you give, or never obeying commands from anyone else. Another sign of aggressive behaviour is often shown through fear that is accompanied by nervous growling and barking.

If your dog has tendency to be territorial, you may need some aggressive dog training. Signs of being territorial are: growling and barking when someone comes near the property, acting possessively about their food bowl or toys or even you, fighting with other dogs or chasing after animals, cars and other dogs.

Agressive behavior is stressful for both you and your dog. You need to avoid this - no one - not human nor animal wants to be stressed all the time. The key to avoiding stress is to ensure that your dog knows that you are in charge, not him. This is a huge step towards avoiding the development of aggressive behavior in your dog.

If you feel flattered because your dog has been aggressive to protect you, then this is something that your dog is likely to repeat since you've given him positive reinforcement for it. If you've gone down this path, correct it with aggressive dog training.

Use the 'Time Out' approach. Every time he exhibits snarling, growling, aggressive behaviour, say 'No' firmly, leave the room and close the door for 30 seconds.

If your dog barks and everything and everyone who passes by your yard, try muzzling him each time for a short while until he gets the idea that you don't want him to do that. Of course, each time he becomes quiet, heap praise and reward on him and remove the muzzle.

When you see this type of behavior, it is up to you to lead the way for your dog with aggressive dog training. He won't change anything until you do.

Check your own actions. Do you reward your dog for bad behavior. For example, does he jump up to greet you and you really enjoy that and shower him with attention? If so, how then can you be angry when he does that to everyone else. Check your own actions before thinking you need aggressive dog training.
