Some women change purses as often as they change their clothes. But the wallet usually moves from one purse to another and goes wherever its owner goes. Since a wallet is used everyday, it needs to have room for all the essentials but still be compact. Women have many types of wallets to choose from and will have no trouble finding one that will serve her well. Wallets make great gifts as well.

Credit Card Wallets: Some women don't like to carry cash or a checkbook. They buy everything using credit cards. All they need is someplace to keep the cards safe and organized. Or some women find it practical to have one wallet for cards and a separate one for cash and/or a checkbook. She can carry them both in a purse or just take one depending on the occasion. Wallets with a Checkbook Slot: Some women write a lot of checks. If the check book has to be handy the best way to carry it is in a purpose-designed checkbook wallet. There's a slot for the checkbook and register and maybe a pen. On the upper flap there will be windows for the cards. Most likely there will be a compartment for cash right behind the checkbook. Floral Fabric Wallets: Fabric wallets can can be colorful and fun. They come in all sorts of fabrics - floral, abstracts or artsy - to match whatever you are wearing, carrying or feeling in the mood for. They aren't the workhorses your old fashioned leather wallet might be but they are designed for style, not for posterity. Some women might find moving cards and ID's to a new wallet too tedious to undertake more than once every few years. Other women are perfectly willing to do it on birthdays, major holidays and whenever they like, especially if the move is to a gorgeous new fabric wallet. Travel Wallets: A travel wallet has a lot of work to do. A woman who travels internationally is going to need her passport, plane tickets and boarding passes within easy reach. A good travel wallet will provide designated spaces for each of these as well as for a drivers license and credit cards. A nice touch is two or more separate compartments for different currencies. Clutches: A clutch wallet is designed assuming that it will be shown off. It can be tossed into a purse but it doesn't have to be. A woman traveling light can leave the bulky purse behind and just carry the clutch. A pretty clutch can serve as a wallet by day and a purse by night. Coin Case: There's nothing like dropping a purse in a crowded restaurant and watching the coins scatter. A sturdy coin wallet with a zipper or escape-proof snap closure will keep coins under control. Coins will be easy to find when needed but otherwise out of sight. A wallet is practical and utilitarian but it can also be fun and fashionable. There are enough types of wallets out there that every woman can find one to match her outfit, her mood, or her itinerary. The right wallet can keep your essentials organized and look good doing it.
