What do you do if you want to lose weight? The story in the mirror isn't getting any better. Something has to be done....but what? Another diet? Oh, no! Not again, please! There must be a better way of losing weight than going on a diet?

Is losing weight a challenge? It can be. It takes effort and commitment if it is going to be successful. The problem for most people is that having invested their time , commitment and money, and really, really tried to keep to the diet regime, the weight jus come back again.

You can put up with most things. You are a fairly resilient person, but when you are at a low ebb, when you're overweight, it is quite difficult to remain positive when you find that all your effort was for nothing. As a reluctant member of the serial dieters club, you are pretty fed up with diets.

Did you know that serial dieters also suffer from an even greater problem? It's loss of muscle mass. When you go on a diet you lose both fat and muscle. When the weight comes back again you put the fat back on, but not the muscle. It's not difficult to see that after several diets, your muscle mass is going to be considerably reduced.

A problem? Certainly: apart from the fact that you will find daily functions more difficult because your muscle mass has deteriorated, your metabolism will have been compromised as well? Why? Because muscle is a very good burner of energy. The more muscle you have the better you will be at burning energy (calories). The less muscle you have the more difficult you will find it to burn energy and therefore lose weight.

Remember these 4 tips: 1. Don't go on a diet. 2. Weight loss pills are no different to diets. The short-term effect is the same. 3. You need a program that has an exercise plan. 4. The only way to lose weight permanently is to make change. You do this by learning new habits, slim habits. Only then can you lose weight safely and effectively...and it won't come back.
