In a statement given by the mint representatives they have declared that the mint has started to sell everything that it produces in one day. Moreover, they have managed to sell more gold in the last couple of weeks than they have in the entire first quarter.

The Austrian mint is the producer of the Philharmonic gold coin. The mint representatives have announced the press that the mint has been selling everything that is produces. And also, the say that they have sold more gold in the last weeks than they have in the first quarter of the year. This is all happening because the demand for the glittering metal has soared in Europe.

In the first quarter the mint has sold approximately 205.000 ounces of gold coins and bars compared to 243.500 it has managed to produce and sell in the last weeks. The mint stressed the fact that the demands are coming only from Europe and that they haven't received any orders from the United States and from Asia in these weeks. As we can all imagine this rising demand for the precious metal is caused by the concerns related to the financial crisis in Greece.

Due to the high demand for gold products, the mint workers have started to work in three shifts once more. The coins and bars are produced all day and all night long in order to make sure that the orders are met. But even with this tight schedule, the mint is selling everything that is produces in a day. They have nothing on stock and as soon as the gold bars and coins are ready, they are shipped to the customers.

Investing in gold is a very wise strategy because it can secure our savings in time of financial instability. The precious metal has and will be a safe haven against inflation. This is why it is wise to follow the advice of the specialists and diversify our portfolio in order to protect our savings.
