There is no one I have met who doesn't either own a home or want to own one. It is then a surprise to know that some people who own homes have not bothered to insurer their homes. Either this or they are totally careless about the coverage they have not knowing if it is adequate. Is it really that important to have your homes insured?
I am yet to see someone who doesn't think owning a home is important and a worthy goal. It is then a surprise to know that some people who own homes have not bothered to insurer their homes. Either this or they are totally careless about the coverage they have not knowing if it is adequate. Is home insurance a waste of money? Let's look at it like this. If you got your home through mortgage, then you know your mortgage provider would require full coverage as a condition for the loan. Why do you think this is so? They know what they are doing. If you think about it, you would agree that home insurance is important. A lady I got to know recently had a home, an uninsured home. Unfortunately, her home got burnt down. Now she had no place to go so she had to be put up by some friends. This does not take into account the emotional and financial cost to her. What is she to do now? She does not have the money to take care of rebuilding. In fact, she has no substantial funds because she has been having some health issues. If I had asked my friend before the disaster occurred if her home could be burnt down, her natural answer would of course be "NEVER" but it did occur. I personally think that having a home without insuring it is an act of irresponsibility. Some of us are feeling good with ourselves since we have home insurance. However, have you checked to know if your coverage is adequate? It would be heart rending if you thought your home was fully covered only to discover too late that you are under covered. I want to know if I am fully covered. You need to correctly value your home and your content for your content coverage. One way to do this is get the current cost for rebuilding your home. When you get a correct value, you might also discover that your home is over covered. Being over covered is as much a problem as being under covered since both result in loss of money. Over coverage would certainly occur in a situation where the cost of the land on which the house stands is included in the value of the home to be insured. If you were to make a claim for the rebuilding of your home would your claim include the cost of repurchasing the land? This should answer your question. Some people might need to insure their home and the land for one reason or the other. If this is the case, you need to be sure that this is the case and that your insurer is clear on it. You wouldn't want surprises. Free home insurance quotes is something everyone who owns a home should get whether you have an insurance coverage or not. It is simple enough.
