There are thousands of other drivers you will pass and thousands more roads you'll cross and you never know what might happen. However, sometimes the policies don't include everything you might need or provide more coverage than is necessary, boosting the prices. You don't want to be left with no automobile, but you also don't want to be paying double what is necessary for protection against something that will never happen to you. Protection against other drivers is essential if you want to take to the road. There are thousands of other drivers you will pass and thousands more roads you'll cross and you never know what might happen. Whether it's a reckless driver, your own distraction or simply a case of a broken down automobile, there is an insurance policy for you. However, sometimes the policies don't include everything you might need or provide more coverage than is necessary, boosting the prices. You don't want to be left with no car, but you also don't want to be paying double what is necessary for protection against something that will never happen to you. Here's a rundown of some important auto insurance. Third Party insurance is the basic insurance for your personal vehicle and gives you coverage for accidents that caused damage to another person's automobile. This is the least you'll need to drive, but it provides no cover for anything besides the other person's auto. Should an accident occur with no other driver, such as colliding with a wall or tree, and your auto is totaled, then you will not be provided with a replacement car or money for repairs or a new car. A further addition to the Third Party is the Fire and Theft insurance. This combines the Third Party insurance, but also provides protection against fires, such as arson, and theft, which is only slightly more expensive, but can be integral to insuring your auto if you think this could happen to you. The best insurance in terms of coverage, Comprehensive insurance provides coverage for pretty much everything. Whether it's an accident you caused or someone else or simply an 'Act of God', such as a tornado or flood, this insurance will protect you against the expenses incurred. It will provide medical coverage, repairs and replacement for your automobile, other people's automobiles and property damage. The company may even provide a replacement vehicle when your own is too damage to drive. It's also worth investigating whether you'd like full glass coverage as well, since while the windscreen is covered, the other windows may not be and it will cost extra in the end. Some companies provide full glass insurance as part of their deal. Also, towing may or may not be included, which will provide coverage for getting a tow truck or roadside assistance to get your car moving. No-fault insurance covers expenses incurred for medical, rehab, work loss, funerals and others for your family, passengers, yourself and any pedestrians injured, but is only valid in certain locations, though the coverage it provides is excellent. Liability insurance is similar to Third Party, except that it covers property instead of other vehicles. If you damage someone's property and they make a claim, then your insurance protects you from that. One particularly important type of insurance in some locations is under-insured and uninsured Drivers insurance. This provides protection against other drivers who do not have or have very limited insurance. Should you be in an accident with them, this will provide protection against their limited coverage, as well as protection against hit and run drivers.
