A great deal of people who want to know how to save money and get out of debt think that it is a straight forward task to just stop spending as much and pay off what you can from what you owe. What they fail to realize is that in many cases they are not paying off as much as they could be.

So are you ready for some tips on how to save some money? First let me put a thought in your mind, when you pay for something you have every day or you do every day do you think about how much it is costing or how much you pay each month for the same thing each day? Your coffee from the machine at work, your trip to and from work in the car, your lunch from the local cheap deli. All of these things add up when you have them on a daily basis.

How long is your list? Mine was huge, now there is an investment you need to make but before you run screaming the investment is a little bit of time and consideration. Think before you put your hand in your pocket and you will save cash and get out of debt.

Buying your lunch at work could be costing you a few hundred dollars a month, in many cases people have subsidized restaurants in the work place however this could still be costing you money. Have you ever thought about making your lunch at home and eating it in the sunshine? I know you are currently thinking "I don't have time in the mornings to make lunch!" Well make it the night before and put it in the fridge that way you don't have to find extra time in the busy morning period.

Buying coffee from the coffee machine at work all that loose change that you are piling in every week, all adds up. Two things either give up the coffee which is the healthy option and drink water but if you can't in any way be without your coffee then buy a flask and take it with you. You can make it with your morning cup before you leave the house.

Driving to and from work is an expensive thing if you live a fair way away from work, talk to your work colleagues and ask if they live on route or close to you so you can share the cost of getting to and from work you could half the cost of getting to and from work.

Many people use public transport to get to and from work, if you are taking the bus or the train in most cases it is cheaper to go less stops. So why not try to get off a stop earlier and walk that extra distance to get to work or home from work, this is also really good for you so you get that extra benefit.

Before I start this next part I would like to say I love small business and I think the smaller stores should be the only ones as they are excellent. However in a great number of cases the things you buy from them when you do your weekly shop are probably cheaper from the larger chain stores. This is unfortunate as it would be good for all concerned if small business could compete on price. To get out of debt your loyalty to the small store could be costing you deeply.

Saving money sounds easy but when you think about the money you spend needlessly each week on things you could get elsewhere at a much reduced cost you would probably start to see that it can be achieved quickly and effectively. Making simple changes can save you more money than you realize in the long term.
