Wanabe Work-At-Home Moms (WAHMs) need to plan their work and then work their plans. There's no way you can just start writing stuff at your computer an instantly become successful if you don't.
Wanabe Work-At-Home Moms (WAHMs) need to plan their work and then work their plans. There's no way you can just start writing stuff at your computer an instantly become successful if you don't. I supplemented my Social Security by working at odd jobs after turning sixty-two. I was having a tough time making ends meed and soon even the part-time work dried up. Younger workers who would work for less were more in demand. I realized that the Internet was the only thing that could save me. And you know, that's how it turned out. Even though I don't know a lot about hi-tech stuff I've been able to steadily build my business. The system I use has all the technology needed but it quietly works in the background. My business keeps on growing and the great thing about it is age or gender play no part in it. As a savvy, multi-tasking mom you are probably looking for a work solution that fits YOUR situation. Do you use your computer in your search? Most moms just use their laptops or P.C.s to email or surf for specific info like good parenting tips, shopping online, etc. They don't realize that the answer to their work dilemma is right there in cyberspace. Have you been thinking about what kind of business you could start from home? As a mom you have interests, hobbies and passions. You may have business expertise, too. You all have knowledge that others do not. It's in your genes to be communicators. You already know how to research things. Think about when your child needs school help. Consider who you asked for recommendations when you needed your house painted. You asked friends, family and other moms. How does this all tie into working from home? For starters, consider whether you use the Internet, for what and how do you go about finding information. Exactly! You use a search engine like Yahoo, Google, AOL, etc. People use the Internet to find information and solutions. When they find a site that provides what they are looking for, they stay for a while. So what does this mean? I want you to think of just one thing that YOU really enjoy doing. Say your hobby is scrap booking and you decide to build a web around that theme and share your knowledge and passion. Now, lets do some brainstorming. Name three things related to scrap booking. 1. The materials 2. special scissors 3. Your unique way of assembling them all You take these scrap-booking topics and build web pages around them. Let's pretend there's a lady who is surfing the net looking for information on scrap booking. She looks on Google for a unique way to assemble photos. In her search she comes to a description on the results page that piques her interest. She clicks on the link. It's your site. The way you write about your subject is friendly and upbeat. The lady finds everything she's been looking for and she likes the fact that it's easy to understand. She feels good about the fact that she found exactly what she needed and relaxes. She now knows where to come for scrap-booking resources. Because she bookmarked your site she now occasionally returns to your site for information. Later, she buys a pair of your "special scissors." I hope you get the point I've been trying to make about setting up your own website. Busy moms everywhere are finding a little time in their busy schedules to build their own online businesses. They just do a little here and a little there as they can squeeze in the time and before they know it they are WAHMs with their online businesses. So, if you're a stay-at-home mom needing more money I encourage you to consider building your own Internet business to meet the needs of your family.
