Gr8ideas Financial Literacyhas been formed to:
- Improve the financial literacy of * Long Term Unemployed * Crisis Accommodation Residents * Residents of Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation Services * Youth in their first years of work
- To prevent poverty and eliminate debt dependence in South Western Sydney through Financial Literacy Education.
| A 18 hour Financial Literacy Workshop is run over 3 full days or 6 half days, with groups of 10-20 people teaching participants to: * Think about their personal approach to money and finances * Understand debt and credit and how to manage it * Prepare and use a personal budget * Work out their financial position * Set their personal financial goals and strategies * Prepare and use a savings/financial plan * Understand the risks when borrowing and investing * Make informed decisions about the use and management of money * Understand how they are affected by broader financial systems | 36 hour Financial Literacy/Job Ready Workshop presented in conjunction with InspirAction Coaching is run over 6 full days or 12 half days, with groups of 10-20 people, teaching participants to: * Think about their personal approach to money and finances * Understand debt and credit and how to manage it * Prepare and use a personal budget * Work out their financial position * Set their personal financial goals and strategies * Prepare and use a savings/financial plan * Understand the risks when borrowing and investing * Make informed decisions about the use and management of money * Understand how they are affected by broader financial systems PLUS * Consider what type of employment best suits them. * Interview Techniques (1:1 & panel interviews) * Resume Writing Techniques * Application Letter Writing Techniques * Job appropriate presentation Skills (plumber v's executive assistant) * Workplace Etiquette (worksite v's boardroom) * Workplace Communication
| Certificate II in Financial Services is run over 8 full days or 16 half days, with groups of 10-20 people teaching participants: Formal qualifications: FNSFLIT201B - Develop & use personal budget FNSICGEN301B - Communicate in the workplace FNSFLIT202B - Develop & use a savings plan FNSICIND301B - Work in the financial services industry FNSFLIT203B Develop an understanding of debt & consumer credit FNSICGEN302B Use technology in the workplace FNSFLIT204B Develop an understanding of Superannuation FNSICGEN304B Apply health and safety practices in the workplace This training is an Australian Government Initiative offered as part of the Productivity Places Program www.productivityplaces.deewr.gov.au  | |
